Accepting what is and what's not!

Updated: Aug 30, 2019

Acceptance isn’t one of those words we talk about. Most never recognize that we are accepting and denying everyday. Usually, when we go to apply for something we begin to get worried about acceptance or denial. But never on a random day.

Acceptance is a Pill we hate to swallow. What I want to talk about today is the idea of accepting what is and what’s not.

Have you ever been mad because the way you planned your day just didn’t quite go as planned? Or what about how you thought your kids would be better off then they are now? Maybe you thought you would be finished school and live in that big condo on a hill already? We all have this moment we’re we accept what’s not and live in what is.

The story of how Jesus accepts who Judas was as his betrayer is outstanding. I say that because as humans can we say that we really ever accept anything? Or do we become resigned and Cynical?

Jesus showed us that although things won’t go as planned accept them. The plan of Judas betraying him as a friend didn’t come as a surprise. But that’s not to say it didn’t hurt. I mean surly Jesus saw this as a prophet and thought why lord not my friend, not my friend who I love. I know he must have even wanted to pray and ask God to stop it. But instead he accepted it and still showed love towards him.

Later on in the garden we see him having a intimate prayer with the Lord.

I wondered if we could be this way. Just accept that these things will happen an that it’s all apart of the plan.

People who you love will go out of communication. Your co-workers will conspire against you. The relationship may fall apart.

But will you? Or will you accept that you are right we’re your meant to be. Remembering that everything single step by step is ordered.

Just want to encourage us today to accept, that things we want may not come. But what we need is already here.
