If I could label this part of my life, it would be named after the song, “Miss Movin‘ On“. I remember going through a “heartbreak” and these were the lyrics, I would scream at the top of my lungs. “I'll never be that girl again, no oh oh I'll never be that girl again, no oh oh
My innocence is wearing thin But my heart is growing strong So call me, call me, call me Miss movin' on, oh oh oh Miss movin' on, oh oh oh, yeah”
Mind you, I didn’t mean a word! But now they mean the world to me. I’m finally in a place where I’m letting go of all of the labels people have given me. It‘s crazy that it’s taken this long but reasonable. I say reasonable because, words, names, and labels stick. My homegirl has been preaching this ALL week about the labels we allow to stick because of the way we interpret things. Those words made me think, “How were interpreting things? What labels have I allowed to stay? What word curses have I allowed to take over?“ Child, I was in my truck, losing binding things for about 30 minutes! it got real in there. Nevertheless, I’m starting to witness the freedom to move on. Move on from people, memories, words, etc., and every time it tries to pop up. I cast it out of my mind. it has no place in my mind or spirit. The bible tells us “Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].”
2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP, that means that any label, thought or action from the past is removed! I’m a new person. Hence the ”ill never be that girl again!” The Bible tells us “Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].”
Philippians 4:8 AMP. that's all I’m trying to focus on now. #staytuned
